A Slow Life in Sicily - A Newsletter For Anyone Wanting To Know More About Life Here On The Island.

Hello and welcome,

I’m Danny, writer, speaker, mentor and community cook. In 2020, I took a leap of faith and moved from London to open a community kitchen called The Good Kitchen in a remote town in the heart of Sicily called Mussomeli. I arrived during the pandemic, knowing no one, and faced more challenges than I could have imagined. I bought the wrong house, tried to rush things, and hit some pretty substantial roadblocks along the way. I have started this Substack to share everything I’ve learned with those dreaming of moving here or simply planning a trip that is full of hidden gems and authentic experiences. I am looking forward to diving deeper into the conversations I often only skim over on social media, especially how my life here has shaped my approach to mental health. Paid subscribers have the opportunity to connect with me in the Chats section and I am offering a monthly Zoom call where I will be able to answer all of your questions. This will also be an opportunity to share tips on buying property, including trusted networks and hidden gems. Here are some of the topics that I will be writing about:

  • Insights on moving to Sicily and life in Torre Salsa, a beautiful nature reserve where I have a farm.

  • My favourite places to eat, stay, and explore across the island.

  • Interviews with locals and foreigners who have made Sicily their home.

For my founding members, I will be hosting an exclusive monthly Zoom call for an hour to answer your questions and offer guidance to those considering a similar leap of faith. I am also available to mentor you if you’re seeking more purpose and meaning in your life. I’m excited to have you here, and as always, thank you for your support.

Danny
